Lower Eyelid Surgery

Preparation

Incision line is marked in sitting position before surgery.

Technique

Skin incision is 1mm below the lash border. In younger patients it is possible to make the incision from inner side, the conjunctiva side. In contrast to the upper eyelid the deeper layers of the lower eyelid are rejuvenated for a younger and natural appearance. The tear trough is resolved in filling parts of the malar fat bags to smooth this line. Sometimes fat is removed, too. Skin and muscle are lifted vertically. The skin is closed with a very fine suture.
